"Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known."
— CARL SAGAN
The Center for Civilization was first conceived as an international think tank bridging connections between young professionals in various fields with the explicit purpose to facilitate collaborative projects and lively dialogues aimed at proffering improved paradigms for contemporary civilization. However, both a strength and a weakness, its decentralized and geographically dispersed position manifests certain challenges when people wish to meet across from one another. Out of this desire to create a shared physical space for conversation and enjoyment, the Caldwell House was born.
"Launch forward into the deep."
— BEZA'S NOVUM TESTAMENTUM
Taking the 18th century model of the French salon, and infusing it with the Epicurean principles of knowledge and delight, the Caldwell House aims to host a variety of events tailored for undisciplined conversations, themed dialogues, decadent soirees and a multiplicity of other programming options to bring people together around a table of delectable food and libations. Hosted entirely free of charge to participants, we welcome those seeking to expand their horizons and deepen their understanding for the value of diversity.
Sponsored and supported by the Center for Civilization, the Caldwell House is a new hub for interdisciplinary investigations and sensorial indulgences. We welcome enthusiastic participants and individuals wishing to get involved. After all, the more, the merrier!
